Hayley Turner OBE

Ex Professional Jockey

Hayley joined Active Communities Network as an Ambassador in early 2014 and has since been involved in a number of excursions and events designed to introduce the world of horseracing to a new generation of young people. 


Tommy Bowe

Professional Rugby Player

Tommy Bowe contacted Active Communities Network in early 2015 after following the work of the charity in Belfast. Since meeting with the team Tommy has become and ACN ambassador and taken part in training sessions with young people on our Northern Ireland programmes. 


Leah McCourt

European and World IMMAF Champion

Leah McCourt joined Active Communities Network as an ambassador in 2017. Growing up in County Down, Belfast she has been familiar with the work for a number of years and after attending a session she was to further inspire by helping and supporting training sessions across Northern Ireland. 


Jo Calvino 

Professional weightlifter

Jo has been Trustee of Active Communities Network since 2014. With her history in diving and her current status as British Weightlifting Champion she is a great role model for young women and regularly attends events and sessions with ACN.

Hannah Rankin

Professional Boxer

Hannah Rankin is a super welterweight female boxer currently ranked No. 4 in the world by the WBC, WBA and IBF. Her goal is to become Scotland’s first female World Champion in 2019.

Freddie Carr

GB Sailor

David (Freddie) Carr is an experienced sailor and considered the powerhouse of the British Challenge. He is five times America’s Cup winner, GBR Challenge in 2003 winner and Sweden’s Victory Challenge 2007 winner.
