Introduction

We offer tutor training workshops for all of our qualifications and introduction courses, supporting tutors to deliver high quality training for their learners and achieve high success rates. With the exception of the Level 2 Delivering Community Activities for Youth at Risk it is not mandatory to attend the tutor training to deliver any of our other qualifications and courses.

Active Communities Network has years of experience in working with young people in deprived communities, who are often at risk of association in crime and ASB, drugs or alcohol misuse and/or are disengaged from education, suffer from low confidence etc. Our courses have been planned as to ensure maximum engagement and retention of these types of learners.

By attending the tutor training, tutors will;

  •  Run through suggested practical and group activities for each task/assessment criteria of the qualification or course
  •  Find out about the assessment and verification processes for the qualification
  • Receive a detailed and comprehensive lesson plan
  •  Receive a tutor pack with example answers
  •  Have the opportunity to network with other tutors and coaches in the sport for development sector
  • Receive ongoing support from ACN, in the planning, delivery and evaluation of your course.

testimonials

"The tutor training delivered by ACN is exactly what all tutors need to feel comfortable and competent, in delivering the best product back in their community setting. The resources fully equip you with exactly what you need to deliver the course, and the benefits of sharing good practice with fellow professionals is also second to none. The support networks post training from the ACN team is also a big help, as they are always  on hand to assist with any further questions, queries, or issues in regards to delivering the course."

"After completing the Tutor Training in the Level 1 in Developing Community Activities to Youth at Risk, the orientation gave me a better understanding of the course content and interactive delivery style of the accredited course. The structure of the days, will 100% suit the learning styles of our Young People and maximise the learner experience via the group tasks which you set throughout the day.

I look forward to rolling out the courses across the region and then seeing the by-product out in the communities with the young people we get trained up.

We would highly recommend other organisations undertaking this training opportunity."
