Funded by Manchester Active, this project provides basic skills and experiences in citizenship and leadership, providing opportunities in a diversionary context.

Game Changers provides informal education focused on health and wellbeing issues. It will empower young people to become activists within their communities and showcase their development through a series of social action projects that enable social inclusion and reintegration to community life.

Leadership qualifications are provided for young people who will be taught to prepare for and lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sporting and recreational activities for small groups within the community.

Game Changers recognises the importance to young people of community leaders and role models, and how they can have a positive impact in terms of progression, dealing with issues and providing support to young people in east Manchester.

ACN Manchester deliver regular weekly diversionary programmes and events to engage young people in Gorton and the surrounding area. We deliver these progammes in a way which maximises the impact of the relationships and partnerships we have developed with local youth and community organisations across the locality.

While sport and dance has been the primary engagement tool, provision is determined by young people throughout the week and is focused on whatever needs are appropriate at the time.

The engagement has enabled young people to build relationships with one another and develop key youth opportunities in the Gorton area.

ACN Manchester also liaise with other community hubs to secure further opportunities and joint events.
