By signing this pledge, we commit to:
1. Champion Equality and Inclusion
Actively promoting fairness and respect for all people, especially those facing disadvantage and limited opportunities.
2. Listen to and Amplify Community Voices
Highlighting the importance of lived experience within communities most affected by disadvantage and inequality. We recognise the knowledge and understanding this can bring. We must ensure those voices are heard by decision and policy makers, when designing future practice.
3. Advocate for Change
Support and engage in action, alongside the ACN Way members to challenge policies, practices and power imbalances that continue to harvest inequality and disadvantage.
4. Work Collectively
In collaboration with ACN Way members, community, grassroots organisations and allies, we aim to strengthen the collective impact of the community sector.
5. Use Our voice and influence
Where we have access and elevated platforms, we will use them to speak out against inequality and support evidence-based, community led solutions as a collective.
6. Reflect, learn and Improve
We value ongoing reflection on our practice, using learning and insight to grow, improve, and make meaningful changes were needed. We must listen to understand not listen to respond.
7. Stand alongside communities
Support the ACN Way project and champion the community sector’s work and the people it serves. Striving for equality, as well as its growth and continued development.
